Elsa Janette Alvarado

Elsa Janette Alvarado, 69, of Allentown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 26 at St. Luke’s Hospital – Allentown.  Born on November 18, 1951 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Francisco Alvarado and the late Estefania Torres.

She was a Christian.  Elsa was a hairdresser and cosmetician.

She is survived by sons Luis B. Colon and wife Jacqueline of Allentown, Luis A. Colon of Allentown, Jose M. Colon and wife Maria of Allentown; daughters Ideiza Colon of Allentown and Michelle Colon of Phillipsburg, NJ; brothers Francisco Alvarado and wife Sonia of Allentown, Ramon I. Alvarado and wife Olga of Allentown, Hector Alvarado and wife Manuela of Allentown, and Juan Alvarado and wife Charmaine of Allentown; sisters Sylvia Alvarado of Allentown, and Maria J. Alvarado of Allentown; many nieces, nephews, and friends; 32 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son Jose M. Colon; two brothers and two sisters.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 31 from 4:30-7:00pm and again from 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday, November 1 at Boyko Funeral Home, 855 Lehigh Street; Allentown, PA  18103.  Elsa’s funeral service will be at 1:00pm in the funeral home.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.boykofuneralhome.com.
