Clara Peregrina Gaona

Clara Peregrina Gaona, 81, of Bethlehem, died Saturday October 28, 2023 in the comfort of her home, where she lost a 12 year battle with dementia.  She was the wife of the late Teodorico Gaona.  They were married 56 years, before he died on October 27, 2022.  Born on November 27, 1941, in San Juan, Peru she was a daughter of the late Homero and Bertila (Castro) Fernandez.  Clara earned her Masters of Education  and was an elementary school teacher for 11 years in Peru.  After many years of marriage and 3 children, she and her husband came to the United States, where they had their fourth child. Later in life Clara made a career as a professional hair stylist, owning and operating two separate salons in New Jersey. Clara, put God and family at the forefront.  She loved to laugh, listen to music and dance, she was always the first one on the dance floor and the last one to leave.  She was a devoted wife, a loving and affectionate mother and doting grandmother.

Survivors; Children; daughter and caretaker Katherine, sons, Marco, Juan, Cesar, grandchildren Marco II, Audrey, Brandon, Cesar Jr, Tyler, Dominick, Maya, Jordan, Noah, Henry and Madeline.

Mass or Christian Burial Monday November 13, 2023 at 10:30 am., at St Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church 4049 Hartley Ave, Easton, PA Visitation one hour prior.  Interment Holy Saviour Cemetery Bethlehem, PA.
